RF Engineer – SDR & RF Direction Finding (RFDF)
Salary Range:
RM3,000 - RM4,500
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated RF Engineer with experience in Software Defined Radio (SDR) to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of RF Direction Finding (RFDF) systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with SDR platforms and a solid understanding of RF signal processing, antenna arrays, and DF techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and integrate SDR-based RFDF systems for signal detection, classification, and direction finding.
● Design, simulate, and implement digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for RF applications.
● Perform system-level design including antenna configuration, receiver chains, and signal routing.
● Work with RF front-end hardware and SDR platforms (e.g., USRP, Ettus, HackRF, etc.).
● Analyze system performance using test equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, etc.).
● Participate in field testing and system validation of RFDF setups. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, and software) to deliver robust RFDF solutions.
● Document designs, algorithms, and test procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
● Strong experience with SDR platforms (e.g., GNU Radio, UHD, LabVIEW RF, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.).
● Solid knowledge of RF fundamentals including modulation schemes, filtering, and noise analysis.
● Experience in RF Direction Finding techniques (e.g., AoA, TDOA, interferometry).
● Familiarity with RF front-end components (LNAs, mixers, filters, antennas).
● Proficiency in signal processing languages (Python, C++, MATLAB, etc.).
● Experience with antenna array design and calibration is a plus.
● Familiarity with real-time signal acquisition and FPGA-based systems is advantageous.
● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Skillsets:
● Hands-on experience with deploying SDR-based DF systems in field environments.
● Knowledge of regulatory standards and spectrum monitoring.
● Prior work in defense, aerospace, or surveillance systems.
Optional Skillsets:
● Strong experience with SDR platforms (e.g., GNU Radio, UHD, LabVIEW RF, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.).
● Solid knowledge of RF fundamentals including modulation schemes, filtering, and noise analysis.
